Two breakwaters protect the north and north-west sectors of the Marina and are designed to cyclonic standards.

Other facilities and features include:

• Marina Office: Open 8:00am to 5:00pm (except Christmas Day and Good Friday)
• Water: Clean drinking water at all berths
• Fuel: On-site tank capacity is 50,000 litres of diesel and 20,000 litres of unleaded. Available from the fuel pontoon from 8:00am to 4:30pm. Other times by prior arrangement.
• Security: Gate keys available with $20 refundable deposit. All entrances covered by digital infra-red cameras.
• Dining: The multi-million dollar club house has an excellent restaurant
• Ice, Bait and Gas: Available on-site
• Toilets, Showers and Laundry Facilities: All amenities located within the clubhouse
• Local Transport: A courtesy coach offers a scheduled service to Smithfield Shopping Centre. Public bus available nearby.
• Dry Storage: Trailer and boat storage area adjacent to berths. Boat ramp access and haulage available.
• Monitoring VHF channel 16
• Rental Agreement: Must be completed on arrival. Payment on arrival unless by prior arrangement.
• Departure: Requested by 12 noon unless prior arrangements made with Marina Office.
• Shore Power: 240V and 3 phase. Charged at $0.122 per unit. 3 phase power jack available from Marina Office upon payment of $500 security deposit, refundable on return.
• Air Conditioning: Vessels using air-conditioners will be charged a surcharge of $2.00 per day, $10.00 per week or $40.00 per month during the period October to March.

In addition to daily, weekly, monthly and annual berth rental, berths can also be purchased for own use, or used as an investment.

Half Moon Bay Marina Cyclone Contingency Plan

Half Moon Bay Marina has been built to withstand a “50 year cyclone”, that is, one with a degree of severity statistically expected to occur once every fifty years, however the commencement of the cyclone season on 1 November each year brings with it the threat of severe storm conditions that pose a hazard to vessels moored within the marina.

To minimize the risks of damage or injury, a cyclone contingency plan for the Half Moon Bay Marina has been developed and refined in conjunction with the Regional Harbour Master (Cairns). This plan is activated once the threat of a cyclone exists, with the prime objective being to organise the orderly securing of vessels within the marina, or removal of vessels from their normal moorings to more sheltered locations, and the measures required to ensure the safety of personnel on or from those vessels.
